Brian von Rueden has enjoyed success in the Chicago musical theatre scene, having performed in Jeff-recommended productions of Sondheim's A Little Night Music and Children of Eden with Porchlight Music Theatre.  In benefit performances with the Three-Sided Players, he has played El Gallo in the perennial favorite The Fantasticks, Jesus in Godspell, and the Older Man in the Stephen Sondheim revue Putting it Together.  On the stage, he has also portrayed Orlando in Shakespeare's As You Like It, the Tutor in Euripedes' Medea, Antonio in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, and The Gentleman in Eugene O'Neill's Thirst. In addition, his operatic portrayals range from the haughty Count Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro to the licentious Tarquinius in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia.
